Norman Steisel Served As First Deputy Mayor Of New York City

From 1990-1994, Norman Steisel was First Deputy Mayor of New York City. He was the Chief Executive Officer of the city government accountable for daily management of all governmental operations, along with the overseeing of a $30B annual operating budget, and a 4-year $20B capital program. He reversed the decade-long direction of local taxes consuming a growing share of GCP (Gross City Product).
