From January 2003 to July 2008, Norman Steisel was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX). A key member of the PHLX strategic management team, he was responsible for watching over the day-to-day operations through which the Exchange’s initiatives and strategic plans were administered.
The design of the strategic plan was to generate value through taking advantage of regulatory licenses, enhancing technology assets, and offering unique trading products and modalities. The PHLX was ultimately sold to NASDAQ OMX. Mr. Steisel coordinated the Exchange’s involvement in transition planning and integration activities with the NASDAQ OMX.
