From January 2003 to July 2008, Norman Steisel was Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Operating Officer of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. An essential member of the PHLX strategic management team, Mr. Steisel was accountable for managing the daily operations through which the Exchange’s strategic plan and initiatives were carried out.
The design of the strategic plan was to draw out value via leveraging regulatory licenses, enhancing technology assets, as well as offering innovative trading modalities and products. The Exchange was eventually sold to NASDAQ OMX. Mr. Steisel managed the Exchange’s involvement in transition planning and integration activities with NASDAQ OMX.
