Norman Steisel

The founder of EnEssCo Strategies, Inc., Norman Steisel served as their President from 1994-2003. EnEssCo Strategies, Inc. advances environmentally compliant, economically viable solutions in the waste handling and treatment, energy production, and water usage industries.

Norman Steisel is an expert senior executive with major public and private sector practical experience. He provides consulting of a strategic nature to businesses and industries planning to accelerate their growth. He has a Master of Science degree from Yale University.

Norman Steisel was First Deputy Mayor of New York City from 1990 to 1994. He was responsible for streamlining systems and operations, and directed the outsourcing of many governmental activities. His decisions lead to annual budget reductions of $2.0 billion.

Norman Steisel worked for Lazard Freres & Company, an investment-banking firm. He was accountable for the firm’s municipal project and environmental corporate financing activities. He served as an advisor to a number of counties and municipalities as well as many other business enterprises.

Norman Steisel is currently pursuing a wide variety of “green” projects for governments and industry. He offers advisory services for environmentally friendly initiatives. He works with his clients, providing his extensive experience to aid them in putting in place solutions that produce positive results.

Norman Steisel works to help include sound environmental stewardship into clients’ daily business procedures. He focuses on supporting organizations in implementing environmentally responsible business practices in the most effective manner.

Norman Steisel lives in NYC. He has instructed courses in public policy analysis and decision-making at Baruch College, CUNY, New York University School of Law, and Columbia University, Harvard Kennedy School for Public Policy, and Yale School of Organization and Management.

From 1990 to 1994, Norman Steisel served as First Deputy Mayor of New York City. He was accountable for streamlining systems and operations in the city. Additionally, he was the overseer of the city’s emergency coordinated response activities.

From 1994 to the present, Mr. Steisel holds the position  of President and CEO of EnEssCo Strategies, Inc., a firm he founded in 2003 to provide management and consulting services to senior level executives of firms and industries in government-regulated sectors undertaking strategic, operational and financial transitional activities. EnEssCo Strategies has been engaged to develop and implement strategic marketing and financial plans for: the American subsidiary of the world’s leading water/waste water treatment firm, a leading start-up bio-tech firm attempting to exploit pharmaceutical and environmental application of its proprietary technology, a leading outsourcing services provider to implement a pharmaceutical and medical material supply chain management subsidiary, and a leading vendor of advanced wireless voice and data telecommunications technologies with licensing and deployment of their services in municipal facilities. EnEssCo Strategies is currently pursuing a wide variety of “green” projects for governments and industry.

Norman Steisel serves as a senior manager with wide-ranging public in addition to private sector expertise. Norman Steisel has maintained very high managing and executive roles in the job areas of city governing administration as well as financing. He is at present Chief executive officer of the consulting services company that are experts in environmentally friendly initiatives.

Norman Steisel functioned as Commissioner of Sanitation in NYC from 1979 to 1986.  Norman Steisel went back to NY government from 1990-1994, when he had been named First Deputy Mayor of the City of NY.

Mr. Steisel eventually left city government in 1986 to participate in the investment-banking service company Lazard Freres & Company. While at Lazard Freres he was contributing to the firms environmental and city venture funding functions.

From 1994 til now, Mr. Steisel acted as Chief Executive Officer of EnEssCo Strategies, Inc.. EnEssCo Strategies, Inc.. offers organization and consultation and advice services to companies in government-regulated industries undertaking strategic, operational and financial transitional functions.
